If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I can’t just do a weekly spread using only black pen… so this week I used some colorful Happy Planner inserts.
Before the Pen
I’ve had this mini refills pack for ages and just haven’t gotten around to using it. There are 4 different pages in the pack – a dot grid, graph paper (will be trying that later), lined checklist and lined note paper. I really like the variety of writing formats.
I don’t normally use a page size this small so rather than getting a mini Happy Notes, I just used my horizontal mini Happy Planner from 2017.

After the Pen
I opted to just use the dot grid pages with my favorite weekly format: days of the week (blog posts) on one side, and tasks on the right.
I normally steer clear of using any page size less than A5, but I was working on time consuming tasks so didn’t need much room to write.
I added this mini half sheet that’s actually intended to be used for a month (has monthly habit trackers on the back) but I just liked the top 3 and bit of space for overflow / reminders that pop up during the week.
I’m not quite sure why MAMBI switch between the smaller dots (3mm spacing) and the larger dots (5mm spacing). I find the 3mm is too small.

Would I use this again?
I don’t want to use colored stickers, pens or highlighters on already colorful paper so this kind of spread is a bit too plain and simple for me. if I didn’t have time to do a colorful spread with stationery then I may grab some of these refills and do something similar again.
I like that Happy Planner have refills and have many of them instead of buying an entire planner, but there needs to be more options! Colored paper is nice and would be great for color coding school notes and to do lists, but more refills with white paper and just a pattern on the spine without any other images and text on the pages would be great. There are so many refill options Happy Planner could do, it really baffles me they don’t offer more inserts. Here’s hoping they do in the future!
