The Cover
The cover is thick, sturdy leather and includes a pen holder too!
Approx 1″ thick
It would be great if the columns for each month were wider i.e. split the dates to remember over 2 pages. I don’t think I could fit much more than a person’s name in those boxes.
The black & white color scheme is continued throughout the entire planner so you can use as many highlighters, colored pens etc. as you like.
The paper is bright white!
Monthly Planning & Calendar
Starts Sunday (not consistent with the weekly spread)
Each month has a 4 page spread.
- Goals for the month
- Monthly budget
- 2 pages with a monthly 2 page calendar
There are NO split boxes on the monthly calendars 🙂
The planner is from the USA so has USA holidays pre-printed on the monthly spread.
Weekly Planning
Each week has a 4 page spread.
- 2 pages with a traditional vertical weekly spread
- Service notes & Prayer journal
- Sketch pad – Blank, unlined page to use as you wish
The schedule for each day runs from 6am to midnight. There’s a full schedule section for weekend days too.
The only religious things on the weekly spread are the bible quot and the ‘spiritual goals’ box.
If you want to remove the Christian references use a black marker pen (I like the Staedtler markers) and a white pen to re-write the title (I prefer the Sakura Gelly Roll). Otherwise, some header stickers would work (the section titles in the planner are a similar size).
USA holidays are printed on the monthly and weekly spread.
Divider Pages
Each month has a blank divider page – would be great if the background was black with white text so you could find months quicker.
The planner is arranged by month. So each month has the monthly planning & monthly calendar pages, followed by the weekly spreads.
Extras pages
There’s quite a few extra pages at the back of the planner:
- Bible reading log
- Contacts (2 pages)
- Books to read & movies to watch (2 pages)
- Password log (2 pages)
These pages are perforated
- Grocery shopping list (3 pages printed double sided so 6 in total)
- Meal planner (3 pages printed double sided so 6 in total)
- Food & exercise tracker (3 pages printed double sided so 6 in total)
- Holiday meal planner (3 pages printed double sided so 6 in total)
- Travel checklists (3 pages printed double sided so 6 in total)
- Gardening planner (1 page printed double sided)
It would be better if the grocery list associated with that week’s meal plan was printed directly onto the back, that way you could tear the page out and everything in there on the 1 page, not separate pages.
You can tear out the perforated pages and photocopy, or download additional copies of these pages from the Christian Planner website.
<3 this travel checklist!
Tabs
There are no tabs – probably because it’s a sewn bound planner.
There’s a roomy pocket folder fixed to the back cover of the planner.
Pros of the Planner
- 100 GSM bright white paper
- Plenty of functional extra pages
- Good line spacing throughout (not too big, not too small)
- Minimalist color scheme
- Minimal Christian elements – anyone could use this planner
- Sturdy, thick leather cover
- Pages lay flat on their own
- Pocket folder
- Reasonable price $40 USD for a 12 month planner
Cons of the Planner
- Heavy
- 1″ thick
- The included pen writes a bit scratchy and the ink is prone to feathering
- Monthly calendar starts Sunday, weekly spread starts Monday (not consistent)
- The perforated extra pages at the back are a good idea but there isn’t enough of them
- The grocery list and meal planner should be printed double sided on the same page so everything for that week is kept together
Would I use this planner?
Probably not as I don’t tend to use vertical weekly planners. If they came out with a horizontal version with each day half unlined & half lined or schedule, then I’d try it.
I’m not really religious but with a few minor tweaks e.g. changing a title or 2, anyone could use this planner.

Hi Maggy,
Their 2020 planner hasn’t been released yet. If you sign up for their mailing list on their website they’ll notify you when it becomes available: https://www.christiandailyplanner.com/
The 2019 version is 50% off as we are halfway through the year. You can use date dot stickers for Jan to July 2019. Here are some of my favorite date dot stickers:

I really like this planner and I agree that the goals review pages need lines for those of us who cannot write in a straight line. Also on the weekly spread, I’d rather they eliminate the times but keep the lines on that lower section with the open box at the top. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for reviewing it so thoroughly!

Yep, agree with all of the above!
