I became really addicted to planner supplies around 5 years ago and started buying a lot of planner supplies. Many dried out pens, sticky notes that are no longer sticky, worn out notebooks later, these are the 5 planner supplies that are still working great.

1. ARC notebook
This is the very first discbound notebook I purchased… 7 years ago! I have a few copies of the A4 and A5 size and invested in leather covers. All of them are in as good condition as the day I purchased them.

I purchased the ARC punch at the same time and it’s still going strong too. Has never broken or malfunctioned.

2. Inkjoy Gel Pens
If I had to use just 1 pen for the rest of my life it would be the Inkjoy Gel pens (this is probably no surprise if you read my blog!) I got a pack around 5 years ago and the ink still works great, no ink skipping etc. They write as smooth as the day I bought them.
3. Poppin Ruler
Another supply that was expensive (in the context of rulers) but was so worth it. I bought a few of these in different colors.
4. Post It Note sticky notes
I did a bulk buy Post it Note’s haul years ago.. and haven’t bought any since. These sticky notes stay sticky for years and while they don’t last for years once you actually stick them on something, they do last a lot longer than other sticky note brands I’ve tried.

5. Frixion erasable self-inking stamps
On the odd occassion I use stamps, I’ll only use self-inking stamps. At $3 AUD per stamp and the fact they’re erasable, the Frixion stamps are already a good buy. I’ve had mine for years and the ink is still working great. I do wish they came in more colors and images.

6. Washi Tape
The 10 metres that comes on most washi tape rolls is seemingly never-ending. I only use a small amount at a time so am yet to finish a roll of washi tape!

Hi, do you use the ARC punch with the Happy Planner? I have the MAMBI punch for classic size. And I have just bought the BIG size Notes. Was considering the BIG punch but would like to have the power to punch thicker laminated pages for covers. I have read conflicting reviews of whether the ARC punch does holes that really work for HP. Thanks so much.

Hi Phyllis,
I did a comparison between the ARC and MAMBI punch in this post: https://allaboutplanners.com.au/mambi-happy-planner-discbound-punch-versus-the-arc-are-they-compatible/
I also did a comparison of different discbound systems and whether their holes and line spacing are compatible (includes photos too): https://allaboutplanners.com.au/discbound-planners-notebooks-brands-that-are-compatible/
The stems are longer in the MAMBI planners than the ARC. So yes the ARC is stronger but the holes won’t align perfectly. If you want to punch a cover for MAMBI, use the MAMBI punch. If you bought a big MAMBI you’ll need the big MAMBI punch.

Your’re still landing in my junk mail, but glad to be receiving feed from you again. After receiving some days worth of emails saying your account was discontinued, then finding no access to you from Pinterest either! Good to hear from you again, Rachel. M. Coy Boston, MA
