The Otto brand from Officeworks have a few nice coil bound planners (wellbeing, goals and business), they also have some hardbound planners but typically generic layouts that have been way overdone. This year they finally bought out a more creative layout. A 2 page horizontal weekly spread – but with a few extra sections for a more structured layout.
Quick facts
- Size: Approx 5.75″ wide x 8.25″ high
- Hardcover
- Sewn binding
- Year at a glance
- Australian public holidays & school terms
- 2 page weekly spread (starts on Monday)
- Neutral inside pages
- Pocket folder

The Cover
The hardcover feels like chipboard so it doesn’t weigh much but is still quite sturdy.
Approx 0.5″ thick
Annual Overview
At the front of the planner are the annual overview pages
Australian school terms & public holidays list
Goals
And then some goal planning pages
I really like this page layout but it would’ve been better if they split each goal onto it’s own page – the columns are so narrow (plus this is only a5 page size) so you won’t be able to fit more than 2 – 3 words per line.
Monthly Calendar
There is no monthly calendar included in this planner.
Monthly Tasks Breakdown
However, there is this monthly tasks breakdown page.
Weekly Planning
This weekly spread is the reason I bought this planner. Horizontal, but with a more creative layout than just lines per day
Extras pages
Contacts pages which I’d re-purpose into a password log.
Pocket Folder
Adhered to the back cover.
Pros of the Planner
- Portable size
- Doesn’t weight much
- Cheap
- Functional layout
- Pocket folder
Cons of the Planner
- No tabs
- Very thin paper
- No monthly calendar
- 1 Ribbon Bookmark
Would I use this planner?
No. I like the structured horizontal layout but the page size is too small. If it was 7″ wide x 9″ high (like most planners these days), then I’d definitely try this planner.
