Clever Fox is one of my favorite sewn bound planners so when I realised the brand had created a few other planners (one of them being the Go Girl Planner), I wanted a copy of that too!

The Cover
There are plenty of cover colors to choose from (light pink, hot pink, green, purple, turquoise, lavender, dark blue) and the shade of blue I chose:
The cover is that material most sewn bound notebooks have – a bit bendy but sturdy at the same time.
Just over 0.5″ thick
The company that owns this planner is also the creator of Clever Fox, Puffin Planner and the Legend Planner (I’ll be posting reviews for all of these planners soon).
Goal Planning
The planner starts with some goal planing pages:
- My life’s big picture (lined notes page)
- My goals (organized into different categories of your life such as financial, career, health/fitness/beauty and personal development
- My top 5 goals for this year
- My mindmap
- My strategy
- My daily rituals
I like some of the prompters but there’s also some I’m not sure about. Questions like ‘skills and hobbies needed to achieve your goals’ and ‘bad habits to break’ are good, but ones like ‘I am grateful for’ and ‘my affirmations’.. they’re not things I’d put in a goal planning section of planner.
Monthly Calendar
Starts Sunday (not consistent with the weekly spread). However, since this is an undated planner you could use some stickers to change the order of the days.
The page size of this planner is smaller than A5. Each box is around 2.8cm wide x 2.2cm high (just under 1.25″ wide x 1″ high)
The line spacing for the life balance goals section is 6mm (slightly smaller than most planners which tend to have 7mm spacing).
Only 4 of the 7 goal categories from the front of the planner are carried though. I guess because the financial and career / business / study are likely to be in the ‘this month’s goals’ section on the left page of the monthly spread.
This planner is logically arranged with all of the monthly spreads clustered together at the front, followed by all of the weekly planning pages clustered together after that.
Weekly Planning
This is the reason I wanted a copy of this planner – it has my all time favorite type of weekly layout: days of the week in horizontal format with list space on the right page.
Saturday and Sunday have a smaller space compared to the weekdays but the dot grid on the right page could be ruled in half and turned into extra weekend space.
The line spacing is the same throughout the planner (6mm)
I’m itching to get some colored highlighters and fill in those day of the week flags and add some color over the top of the dividers for each day. This planner has a great layout if you want to add color without taking up space (like I’ve done a few times in the Whistle and Birch planner – click here if you want an example of what I mean).
Dot Grid Pages
There are 12 double sided dot grid pages at the back of the planner with 5mm spacing.
I did notice when I was looking through the planner, that some of the dot grid printing appears very feint / faded in some parts of some of the pages (refer to my video earlier in this post).
Pages lat flat on their own no matter where you open the planner
Pen Testing
I didn’t do a pen test of this planner as the weekly layout is quite similar to the Legend Planner that’s by the same brand. The paper appears to be the same across their planners, so here is the results of the Legend Planner
The paper quality is really good! There was very very light ghosting for the highlighters and bleed through for 2 of the MAMBI stamps. No ghosting or bleed through for any of the pens except a little bit of bleed through for the Uni Pi marker pens.
Pros of the Go Girl Planner
- Portable size & lightweight
- 3 ribbon bookmarks (and all different colors)
- Undated – start using anytime
- Affordable price
- Functional weekly spread
- Multiple goal planning pages
- Pocket folder
- 1 Sheet of rainbow stickers
- 5mm spacing on the dot grid pages
- White paper
- Multiple cover colors to choose from
- Pages lay flat
- Pen loop
Cons of the Go Girl Planner
- Dot grid printing is feint in some places
- Start day of the week is not consistent between the monthly and weekly pages
Would I use this planner?
Normally I would say yes, however I prefer the weekly spread and the goal planning pages in the Legend Planner more than the Go Girl Planner. The Legend Planner also included monthly and quarterly goal reviews but that might be because I purchased the dated version compared to the Go Girl’s undated version.
