Review of the Plum Paper Memory Keepers Book

I’ve been keen to try non-traditional planner layouts this year as part of the 52 planners in 52 weeks challenge. So when I saw the Plum Paper Memory Keepers notebook and thought it would make a good weekly planner with a few tweaks to the layout.

I purchased the notebook as part of my second Plum Paper haul. I may have gone a little overboard… too many nice layouts and pretty colors to choose from 🙂

Plum Paper Memory Keepers Book Review

I used the Plum Paper Memory Keeper Book for week 8 of the 52 planners in 52 weeks challenge but I forgot to post a detailed review of the actual planner itself so here is a video walkthrough.

I chose something a little different from my usual chevrons, polka dots and stripes with this pretty ‘paint strokes’ pattern. You can choose the frame from a circle, square, hexagon etc. as well as the text for the cover. I do wish they offered more font styles to choose from.

Inside the notebook

It has almost the same layout as the left page of the Plum Paper Horizontal Lined weekly planner but without the month at a glance section (which I think is a waste of planning space anyway).

This notebook is 7″ wide x 9″ high and is undated – it’s designed for memory keeping for your kids or journaling but I decided to turn it into a weekly planner instead.

The notebook is designed for memory keeping so if you want to use it in another way you will need a sticker to cover up the titles pre-printed on the pages. I shared a tutorial on how to create your own header stickers in this post.

That’s what I did when I tried this planner for week 8 of the 52 planner in 52 weeks challenge.

Each month has a monthly planning page which is really functional. The titles could be covered up to create your own lists such as cleaning tasks, seasonal tasks such as cleaning the gutters, recipes to try etc.

While these month at a glance pages are labelled as ‘special dates’ you could use these for birthdays, goal setting, recipes to try etc.

I use these pages to plan which products I’m launching.

Pros of the Plum Paper Memory Keeper’s Notebook

  • Flexible layout you could make it into anything you want
  • Good size., 7 x 9″ is the perfect planner size – not too small but not too big
  • Can add extra pages?
  • Can choose your own cover design (from their options)
  • You can monogram / personalise the cover <3
  • Undated – start planning anytime
  • Nice colors
  • Double sided pocket folder
  • Can add additional pages – this is one of my favorite features of Plum Paper planners – you can add extra to do lists, notes pages, budgeting sections etc.

Cons of the Plum Paper Memory Keeper’s Notebook

  • You can’t upload your own cover or change the colors of the pattern options they have
  • With the other Plum Paper planners you can now choose between monochromatic or colorful – this option currently isn’t available for the Memory Keepers book
  • The cover isn’t laminated or a durable hardcover – it’s cardstock with a clear plastic cover over the top to protect it

After the monthly planning space, instead of weekly spreads like in a traditional planner, there are more ‘things to remember pages’

Notes pages (there’s a couple at the front of the planner as well). It would be even better if they were lined!

Some other ways you could use this notebook:

  • Work and personal to do lists with routine / habit trackers in the top box
  • Errands and reminders in the top box and grocery lists in the 2 list column sections
  • Meal planning in the top box and grocery lists in the 2 list column sections
  • Goal setting – write your goal in the top box and list out all of the steps in the 2 list columns
