The Uncalendar is not a very pretty planner but it is very functional.
Before the Pen
See my review of the Uncalendar Planner in this post.
After the Pen
There’s so many different ways you could use this planner. There’s no headings for each section and the boxes of various sizes are ideal for different things.
I used the small ones at the top of the left page as my top 3 weekly tasks
And the 2 on the other page for ‘if i have time goals’
I think you’re supposed to use the boxes for each day for putting times for scheduling or ticking things off, but I opted to use it for blogging workflow. D = draft, E = edited etc.
I used the numbered section for breaking down one of my goals: website updates which worked really well with the numbered steps and a box to tick off once a task is completed.
I really wish more planners included project space within the weekly spread or detailed step by step pages at the back of the planner rather than just lined notes pages.
The habit tracker is so small I couldn’t fit the habits in the column and had to use a number key instead. If I used the planner again I’d opt for the larger A4 page size.
Supplies Used
I used the Ooly 0.4 ballpoint pen. The colors are nice and bold and the pens write smoothly. I normally avoid 0.4 tips for being too fine but these pens feel fatter than a 0.4 when writing.
Pros of the Uncalendar
- Undated
- No titles / headings so you can choose your own and use the planner in a different way each week
- Lined writing space for weekdays
Cons of the Uncalendar
- The line spacing is too small in the A5 size planner
- Color scheme is a bland and boring
- The habit tracker is too small
- Need more space for each day (although this problem would probably be solved if you used the larger page size version)
- Weekends share the same amount of planning space as a weekday and have unlined writing space
- The cover is boring and feels cheap
Would I use this planner again?
This planner is ok but I much prefer colorful, ‘prettier’ planners. I really liked the numbered list that I used for project planning however the line spacing is too close together in the A5 page size. The mini graph / grid (that I used for habit tracking) is too small to write more than 1 word in. If I used this planner again I’d want to try the A4 size.

Hey Rachel!
This layout looks very similar to one of the happy planner girl lines. They’re calling it the dashboard layout. Right now it’s available in the girl line, super mom but they are introducing an expansion pack at Michael’s that is undated if you’d like to try it out since it is much prettier ? hope you can find it in Australia!

I forgot to add that it meets all your pros and and answers all of your cons!! Also the expansion pack is not”mom” oriented so it’ll work for anyone! Hope you can find it and maybe it will be “the one”!

I have used an Uncalendar for years on my work desk. I work mostly from home, and it is not my actual calendar, but a place I can catch stuff during the day such as what did I work on or what work is billable – both of those go in the days section. And then all the boxes for stuff I have to catch and process, to do’s, reminders, questions, etc, and then I can add them to my other lists and actual calendar. Its really a great tool. I use the larger size (I think you used the small one), which is laid out differently, and the brightly colored version.
Could you do a review of this other calendar? Its not a fancy planner, but I have used it in the past and has a good size, good quality and is affordable. I liked the larger one, the “large weekly” size and it comes in 2 different types of bendable covers with a great set of colors, the leather cover and the Key West cover. I think people would like to learn about it. I have no connection to them, I have just never seen it reviewed any where. Here’s the link: https://www.galleryleather.com/planners
Thanks for your site, I really enjoy it.

I realized that this is a US product and so you may not want to review it. Apologies.
