I can’t remember how I came across the Lake and Loft planner but I liked the simple style + different weekly spread and all the extra pages for each month so let’s take a closer look!
Quick facts
- Size: 7.25″ wide x 11.25″ high
- Hardcover
- Wire binding
- Dates at a glance page
- 2 page Monthly calendar (starts on Monday)
- 2 page weekly spread (starts on Monday)
- Monthly goals
- Monthly budget
- Monthly review
- Tabs

The Cover
The cover is very sturdy with a linen feel. With the gold corner detail I don’t think the cover would get damaged.
There are a few color covers to choose from – I opted for something different – orange!
Approx 1.25″ thick
The planner comes with a booklet with instructions for using the planner
At the front are the dream and plans tabs.
The dream section has 12 copies of these big ideas and minor details pages (would be much better if the line spacing was smaller)
At the back of the section is an index:
Monthly Pages
Each month has:
- Monthly goals (2 pages)
- Monthly budget (2 pages)
- 2 page monthly calendar
- Month in review (1 page)
The line spacing in this planner is huge (0.5″ – double the line spacing of most planners)
I like the creative monthly budget page!
Unfortunately split boxes make an appearance
Weekly Pages
The layout of the weekly spread is a cross between vertical and horizontal. The days read across the page rather than 1 page which I think would get annoying if you have the pages folded back.
I’m also not a fan of the hey thanks and weekly wins box – this would be more functional as Sunday’s box, then each day would have the same size planning space.
Something unique about this planner: they include perforated cards at the back in colors that match the dividers throughout the planner.
There’s also a number of gift & event planning pages.
Dividers
Different color dividers for each month.
Tabs
The tabs are big and sturdy (the cardstock feels thicker than most planners). At the front are jumbo tabs (literally the biggest tabs I’ve ever seen – half to the entire height of the planner).
Planner Stickers
There is 1 sheet of planner stickers which is really random. None of the stickers really fit with one another and they aren’t functional either.
Pocket Folder
The pocket folder is a good idea, but like most pocket folders fixed directly to a hardcover, it doesn’t leave much room to put things in the pocket. There’s another pocket folder on the inside of the front cover.
Pros of the Planner
- Monthly goals
- Monthly review
- Monthly budget
- Big sturdy tabs (thicker cardstock than most planners)
- Both the weekly spread and monthly calendar start on Monday
Cons of the Planner
- The line spacing is too big
- The page size is too big
- The planner is too heavy
- The weekly wins and hey thanks section of the weekly spread wastes too much space
- Saturday and Sunday are combined into 1 small section
- 1 sheet of planner stickers but they’re very random and not functional
- The pocket folder doesn’t have much room
- No cover personalisation
- Split boxes on the monthly spread
Would I use this planner?
No, the proportions of this planner are off. If you have big hand writing this planner might work but it’s too heavy to take with you – it’d need to stay on your desk.
This planner would be much better in a smaller page size with smaller line spacing.

i try to stay away from spiral – i need to insert and remove pages – but this one makes we want to try it. i’m already seeing remedies for the split end days and the S/S box. it would work for work!
