There seem to be more horizontal weekly spread + checklist on the second page weekly planners 🙂 A recent one I found that has gone near the top of my favorites list is the Legend Planner.

The Cover
The cover on this planner is a bit different – the image is 3D / imprinted into the front cover.
Approx 1″ thick. This is thicker than most sewn bound planner, but still feels lighter than what a coil bound planner this thick would weigh
I purchased a dated version from January – December 2020 but the planner comes in an undated version too.
Goal Planning
At the front there is a comprehensive set of goal planning pages:
- Awareness & self discovery
- Vision
- Dreams list (up to 50 goals)
- Most important life goals (split out into different areas of your life e.g. health)
- Vision board
- 1 Year goals (up to 3 goals for each area of your life)
- Strategy
- Daily rituals
Some of these pages are great but there are also some I probably won’t use.
The same company has produced multiple planners (Puffin Planner, Clever Fox, Go Girl) and each one has different layouts for the goal planning pages.
Quarterly Goals
Each quarter starts with these 2 goal pages (love these as there’s plenty of space to list the steps for each task).
Monthly Calendar
Starts Sunday (not consistent with the weekly spread).
Unfortunately there are split boxes instead of just restarting the numbering on the top row.
The bottom boxes for most important goals are about 2″ wide x 1″ high.
The bottom boxes for the different goal areas are about 2″ wide x 0.5″ high. The same goal areas from the goal planning pages at the front of the planner are carried through, except for 2: career & business and finance & net worth. I assume the intention is that these would be covered off in the most important goals section.
The sidebar is a bit narrow at just over 1″ thick.
USA holidays are pre-printed on the monthly calendar.
The boxes for each day are 1.25″ wide x 1″ high.
Monthly Reflection
At the end of each month is a 2 page monthly reflection. I really like this layout – it has practical questions and that wheel will look great in rainbow colors.
Weekly Planning
The weekly spread starts on Monday (not consistent with the monthly calendar). Apart from that I really like this spread!
USA holidays are pre-printed on the weekly spread.
The line spacing is 6mm.
I need a bit more space on the weekend than the planner includes so will probably divide the dot grid section on the second page in half and add Sat & Sun tasks there.
Extras pages
There are 10 dot grid pages at the back of the planner (5mm dot grid spacing).
I was disappointed that there are so many goal planning pages throughout and reviews for each month, but there wasn’t a structured yearly goals review.
There’s also a pocket folder which includes 3 sheets of stickers. A mix of quotes, functional habit trackers, icons and phrases like appointment, call etc.
Love that there are 3 ribbon bookmarks and they’re all different colors.
The pages lay flat on their own 🙂
Pen Testing
As this planner is from the same company that created Clever Fox I was expecting decent paper and…
The paper quality is really good! There was very very light ghosting for the highlighters and bleed through for 2 of the MAMBI stamps. No ghosting or bleed through for any of the pens except a little bit of bleed through for the Uni Pi marker pens.
Pros of the Planner
- Portable size
- Cheap for a 12 month planner
- Functional weekly spread that maximises the page
- Minimalist color scheme
- 3 ribbon bookmarks (and different colors)
- 5mm spacing on the dot grid pages
- White paper
- Really good paper that’s not prone to ghosting or bleed through
- Well thought out goal planning pages
- Quarterly goal pages
- Monthly review pages
- Pocket folder
- Comes with 3 sheets of stickers (and some are foil!)
- Many cover colors to choose from
- Pen loop
- Pages lay flat
Cons of the Planner
- Split boxes on the monthly calendar
- No annual goals review
Would I use this planner?
As you can probably tell from the very long pros list – yes!
The weekly layout is in my favorite format and I like the mix of lined writing space, checklist and dot grid. The paper is good too with hardly any ghosting. I also like that the cover is different from other sewn bound planners with the 3D imprint and there’s a wide range of cover colors to choose from.
If you like this planner, I found it on Amazon. I’ve also noticed they’ve released a Legend Budget planner in a similar style to this planner.
If you like the style of this planner but maybe not the layout, the creator (SV Digital LLC) has a few other planners including: Clever Fox, Go Girl and the Puffin Planner (I’ll be posting reviews of each of these planners soon).
I reviewed this planner in 2020.

I don’t understand – why does SV Digital make a bunch of different planners that look relatively the same (Cleverfox, Legend, etc.)

Love that weekly layout! Don’t really love the monthly 🙂 I was going to to a hobonichi weeks / TN set up but I am having a hard time finding a cover that will not break the bank.

Thank you so much for this review. I think this may be the one for me. I’ve gone through several planners over the years and I’m hoping the legend does the trick. I really value your reviews. I’ve learned so much and appreciate your thoroughness trying out all these planners. It has made it much simpler to figure out my needs and which planner to choose.

This looks nice, a bit short of space for weekly planning, in my opinion. But really interesting option.
