Plum Paper Vertical Priorities Weekly Spread Review (Pros, Cons, Pen Test and Video)

I don’t normally choose vertical planner layouts however I’m a sucker for anything Plum Paper so ended up adding a vertical priorities planner to my haul.

Quick Facts

  • Paper Size: 7″ x 9″ (other sizes available)
  • Starts on a Monday
  • Weekends combined
  • Choose your cover + cover personalisation
  • Start planner in any month
  • Choose from 12-18 months
  • Month & Year-at-a-Glance Pages
  • Monthly Planning Pages + notes page
  • 2 page monthly calendar
  • Double Sided Pocket Folder
  • Aluminium Coil
  • Tabs

LET’S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK!

The Cover

I don’t normally got for mint however I liked this 2-tone cover so opted for the ready to ship (non-personalised) option:

12 month planner is approx 1.5cm (0.75″) thick

The cover material is the same as previous years – smooth matte with a clear cover to protect it (much prefer that to a laminate cover as it’s less prone to scuffing and the corners are rounded so don’t get bent)

Vertical Priorities Weekly Spread

I opted for the colorful inside layout. I’ve used the neutral and it got boring really quickly. Plum Paper have been using the same colors for a few years now and while I like them, it would definitely be great if they released an option for different colors for each month or different colorways.

The columns for each day are quite roomy as Sat & Sun are combined into the space of a weekday. For this reason I think this planner would be best suited for a work planner or student.

As with past years, when a month ends midway through a week you get the grey shaded days of the previous month. The days are then repeated on the following month (i.e. duplicate days). You choose if you want to plan the start of January with the end of December. Or the end of December with the start of January etc.

I think this layout would be ideal for a student (as the weekends are combined) or if you’re self-employed.

Apart from the weekly spread, the rest of the planner is the same as past years

  • Important dates page
  • Monthly calendar
  • Monthly planning & notes pages
  • Choose from colorful or neutral
  • Plenty of add on / extra pages to choose from
  • Monthly tabs
  • Pocket folder

If you haven’t seen the inside of the Plum Paper Planners, here’s what it looks like:

At the front

is the dates at a glance, annual planning and goals / projects overview pages:

Monthly Calendar

The company is USA based so has US holidays printed. The monthly calendar starts on a Sunday (not consistent with the weekly spreads that start on Monday)

Unfortunately they’re still doing that annoying thing where they split boxes into 2 rather than just re-starting the numbering on the top row

Tabs for each month

Pen Testing

The paper quality of Plum Paper Planners is really the only letdown. It’s good but not great. It’s bright white and smooth to write on and there isn’t much ghosting for ballpoint pens.

However highlighters, marker pens and some of the thicker gel pens are prone to showing on the other side.

Pros of the Priorities Plum Paper Planner

  • Nice colors
  • Affordable
  • Cheap international shipping
  • Cover personalisation
  • Plenty of cover options to choose from
  • Smooth white paper to write on
  • Functional weekly layouts
  • Monthly planning & monthly notes page
  • Weekly habit tracker

Cons of the Priorities Plum Paper Planner

  • Weekends are combined into the same space as a weekday
  • Paper quality could be better
  • Monthly calendars start on Sunday but the weekly spreads start on Monday

See how I used this planner in this post.

This planner comes in a horizontal layout too – review here.

I love the ideas, projects, goals list section. I may DIY my own on Word for my planner. Thanks for sharing.
