The Cover
A sturdy hardcover that extends beyond the tabs to protect them from damage.
Approx 1.5cm thick
My first impression of the planner was that it reminded me a lot of the Kate Spade planner. The tabs, font, paper quality and monthly calendar are all very similar.
Monthly Planning
Each month has a monthly notes page and a monthly list page (personal, health, work and financial goals)
The paper is very thin – the printing of the planner pages ghost through so pens no doubt will as well.
Monthly Calendar
2 page monthly calendar that starts on Saturday (not consistent with the weekly spread that starts on Monday).
Unfortunately in some instances, the planner splits boxes in 2 rather than just restarting the date numbering on the top row.
Weekly Spread
Starts on a Monday. Saturday and Sunday share the same amount of space as a weekday.
The same monthly planning list page but with headings replaced with: to do, to call, to email and to buy. The font is small so if you wanted to white them out and add your own headings you easily could.
The paper isn’t bright white, it’s more of an ivory color.
Double sided pocket folder at the back.
Tabs
While there are tabs, they’re a bit flimsy – cardstock with some clear sticky over the top stuck onto the page – there are no dividers for each month.
Pros of the Sugar Paper Planner
- Lay flat wire binding
- Monthly notes & monthly planning pages
- Double sided pocket folder
- Tabs are protected by the cover
- Portable and lightweight
Cons of the Sugar Paper Planner
- Feels a bit cheap – tabs & paper quality
- Monthly calendar and weekly spread start days are not consistent
- The monthly calendar splits 2 boxes into 2 at the end of some of the months
- The paper is very thin – the printing of the planner pages ghost through so pens no doubt will as well
Would I use this planner?
I really like the weekly layout but I can’t get past the low paper quality. There are plenty of planners with this type of weekly spread these days (finally!) so I’d use one with better paper quality.
