Another day, another bullet journal notebook to review! This one is slightly more expensive ($15 USD) than the cheapest dot grid notebooks (that cost around $10 like the Artfan, Poluma and Minimalism Art). So let’s see what you get for the extra $5 with the Bullet Keeper (BK) dot grid notebook.
Quick facts
- Size: Approx. 6″ wide x 8.25″ high (15cm wide x 21cm high)
- Hardcover (blue or black)
- 5mm dot grid
- 120 GSM paper
- No page numbers
- Perforated pages
- 2 ribbon bookmarks
- Pocket folder
- Pen loop
- Page tab stickers
Price: $15 USD

The Cover
The hardcover is that slightly flexible faux leather material you’ll find on most sewn bound notebooks. You can choose between black or blue for the cover.
Approx 0.75″ thick (about 2cm thick)
The Inside pages
There are no pre-printed pages (e.g. an index) at the front of the notebook. The entire book is the same dot grid pages throughout.
Dot grid spacing is 5mm (which is the most common dot grid size these types of notebooks have).
Unfortunately, the pages aren’t numbered…
All of the pages are perforated though
There are no tabs on the pages but something different to other dot grid notebooks, are the sticker tab labels that come with the book:
Pen Testing
The paper is only 120 GSM which isn’t that thick. Predictably there was some ghosting for marker pens and highlighters. If you’re going to use this notebook stick to ballpoint, gel or fine tip pens.
Pros of the Notebook
- Portable size
- 2 ribbon bookmarks
- Affordable price
- Pen loop
- Perforated pages
- Pocket folder
- Wider page size than most notebooks in this price range
- Ivory (not yellow) paper
Cons of the Notebook
- No page numbers
- Only 2 cover colors (blue or black)
Would I use this notebook?
At $15 USD this notebook falls in what I’d class as mid price range. The paper is still prone to ghosting and bleed through but you do get a little bit wider page size than cheaper notebooks like the Minimalism Art or the Scrivwell. There are only 2 cover colors to choose from and the pages aren’t numbered. I’d rather spend a bit more and have numbered pages and better paper. A better notebook (in my opinion) for only $2 USD more, is the Clever Fox.
You could still purchase the Bullet Keeper notebook and use it for drafting spreads & for scratch paper.
