7 Colorful Day to a Page Bullet Journal Layout Ideas
I wasn’t travelling anywhere the week between Christmas and new year this time, so was at home each day. I occasionally use a daily planner on a weekend but otherwise rarely use them. But since I was home all week, I decided to do some daily spreads, and I wanted to make them colorful.
I hope these daily spreads spark a few ideas and inspire you to try something new in your own bullet journal.

1. Washi tape schedule
I used different colored washi tape to time block each hour.
The schedule doesn’t start until 10am as that’s when I was bothered to get out of bed and had finished my morning route (skincare etc) and was actually ready to start the day. I only included ‘useable’ hours.
You’ll also notice I skipped from 1pm – 2pm as I left that out for a break for lunch break. I was also going somewhere that evening so didn’t bother scheduling beyond 4:30pm – 5pm.

If you aren’t sure what to do with solid colored washi tape, this is a great use for it.

If you did want to schedule out more hours of the day, you could add a second column of washi tape, or add a second page.
If you prefer to use stickers instead of writing out the times, the only timeslot scheduling stickers I’ve found were in the Recollections Everyday Basics sticker book, Otherwise you’ll need to have a look at Etsy shops if you don’t want to make your own.
I was going to add some to do list boxes beside the schedule but decided not to bother in the end. I filled the schedule section then thought well if the task isn’t allocated to a time, then it’s not going to get done. So no point adding it into day that already had a small amount of available hours.

2. Productivity focused with detailed schedule
I had a full day to myself on this day so decided to do a pomodoro focused daily spread.
I needed to do a lot of deep cleaning over this break, so had a section on this day dedicated to that. I normally wouldn’t do this as I use a cleaning routine tracker, but I’d been busy at work the weeks before the break so wasn’t keeping on top of it.
I also added a hydrate tracker, exercise and meals section. This would be a good spread for someone trying to ‘juggle it all.’

I used the e Zebra Clickart pens and the VANCO alphabet stencil for the Tuesday text.

3. Pastel + Productive
I created this layout with a schedule section but didn’t pre-write in any scheduled times. I had time sensitive things but not ‘official’ appointments, just things I wanted to do at set times of the day (i.e. when I’m most motivated).
Otherwise the rest of the layout had similar sections to the other daily spreads on this list: pomodoro tracker, checklist, meals and exercise. I took a break from cleaning and instead added an ‘if I have time’ to do list.

I used the pastel stabilo boss highlighters for this one.

4. Inspired by a printable
I made this daily planner printable years ago and decided to recreate it bullet journal style.

I made another variation of this layout here.

I used the Zebra Mildliners bright colors pack. There are 5 colors in the pack, I used them all except the red. Cheap and effective spread!

5. Freehand
I used the same Zebra mildliner pack with a focus on the teal color since that’s hard to find in most highlighter packs. Of the spreads I created this week, I liked this spread the least. I should’ve used the clickart or other pens that are thinner, as trying to write with the dual end of the highlighter was difficult, the tip is too fat. As a result the spread looks very ‘messy’ to me.
I like teal but I think this was too much teal, it would’ve been better as a rainbow theme spread, or with black borders and then colored headings. You could also use thin 3mm washi tape for the borders of the boxes.
I modelled the layout off this daily planner set from my shop.
The days of the week sticker is from the Handwritten plans sticker book by MAMBI.

6. Super productive
This layout was the most minimalist but also the most productive with sections for:
- Pomodoro tracker
- Hourly schedule
- To do checklist
- Meals
- Notes
- Exercise
- Cleaning
There’s a 30 day cleaning routine in the free printables library. Existing subscribers can login and download it here.
I don’t have that steady a hand, so I cheated and used a stencil for the circle where I wrote the date. This also looks good if you color in the circle and use a white pen like the Sakura Gelly Roll to write the number. Or just use a date sticker.

I used the Zebra Clickart pens for this spread as well. I use these pens a lot as the yellow is bright enough that I can actually see it.

I used the Zicoto stencil for the Wed text. I tried to find the stencil set on Amazon but it might not be available anymore as I couldn’t find it. This stencil set by ALODNY looks similar.

7. Dot Markers
This layout was very quick and easy to draw up. With a simple layout for dividing the day into time increments, rather than by hour.

I used the Tombow dot markers for this spread. The dot markers are a good way to cover up when you accidentally draw a line too far.
