If you’re heading to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, these are the stationery shops I recommend visiting:
There are lots of photos in this post so the page may need a little time to load!
De Bijenkorf Department Store
When I searched for stationery on Google Maps it came up with a Paperchase in this location. However, if you read the address in more detail it’s actually just a section inside this department store. It had a smaller range than a proper standalone Paperchase store, but still had quite a lot of notebooks, planners, pens and highlighters.
There were other brands apart from Paperchase too.
Address: Dam 1, 1012 JS Amsterdam, Netherlands
I purchased the erasable highlighters to see if they’re as good as the Frixion Erasable. I also bought the rainbow highlighter pack in the middle of the photo below. I purchased the fineliner pens on my last trip to Europe (see that haul in this post).
I also bought the stitched dot grid notebook in the photo below – was only 3 euro!
If the current mood notebook in the photo below had been dot grid I definitely would’ve bought it!
Since I liked the Paperchase Agenzio planner I bought last year, I opted for the Agenzio dot grid this time.
I quite liked this planner with a different layout – 4 pages per week with plenty of space to write… but by this point into the trip I had to start limiting my purchases to meet the luggage limit 🙁
Van Der Heijde
While not the cheapest, they did have some nice notebooks and pens. I purchased a dot grid notebook and some purple sticky notes (color that’s hard to find!)
Address: Langebrugsteeg 13, 1012 GB Amsterdam, Netherlands (near the Red Light district)
I purchased this dot grid journal (it was a random find, I can’t find it anywhere online to add the link to this post)
Hudson’s Bay
This department store had a large stationery section with a bit of everything!
Some of the random planners with non-typical layouts that I found:
Address: Rokin 21-49, 1012 GL Amsterdam, Netherlands
Like Stationery
I tried to visit this shop but there was a random notice on the door saying they were closed that day. It was only a small shop and based on the photos on Google, I’m not sure it even would’ve been worth it anyway. It’s location is a bit out of the way – I went there after the Anne Frank house.
Address: Prinsenstraat 24HS, 1015 DD Amsterdam, Netherlands
Moleskine Store
Located on one of the main shopping drags this Moleskine store has the same stock as all the others – same notebooks, planners etc.
Address: Kalverstraat 98, 1012 PJ Amsterdam, Netherlands
Hema
This department store can be hit and miss. Sometimes you randomly find good stuff, other times it can be a bit junky.
Like Flying Tiger Copenhagen this store is in countries all over Europe. The stock is almost always the same in all stores.
Address Kalver Passage, Kalverstraat 212, 1012 XH Amsterdam, Netherlands (near the Moleskine store) or there’s another one closer to the central train station (and the main tourist area) at Nieuwendijk 174-176, 1012 MT Amsterdam, Netherlands
There were a few cute bullet journal notebooks – I ended up choosing the stars cover. The paper is bright white dot grid inside and the notebook was only 5 euro!

What a fab blog! Thank you for sharing this. I visited Amsterdam a few years ago and had no clue that there were so many places for stationery! I will file this away for my next visit! Brilliant. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
