LANNOO Graphics Dot Grid Notebook Review (Including Pen Test)

After seeing this sparkly and compact little notebook for 8 Euro 3 times in different book / stationery stores in Finland, I finally caved in and bought it.

Quick facts

  • Size: Approx 5.75″ wide x 8.25″ high
  • Softcover
  • Sewn bound
  • Bright white pages
  • Dot grid
  • No contents, future log etc.
  • No pocket folder
  • No ribbon bookmark
  • Price = $8 Euro

The Cover

You probably can’t tell in the photo but the covers foil shimmers in different lighting.

Approx 0.28″ (7mm) thick (very thin!)

I liked this notebook’s wide margin on all sides (easier to rule up spreads when the dots aren’t right on the edge of the page).

Once you ‘break’ the spine, the pages lay flat on their own.

The dot grid spacing is slightly less than the usual 5mm in most dot grid notebooks (it’s around 4mm).

Pen Testing

Love the bright white paper… but don’t love how prone it is to ghosting.

Almost everything had bad ghosting and stamps and highlighters bled right through.

Pros of the Planner

  • Portable size
  • Very lightweight
  • Bright white paper
  • Pretty cover

Cons of the Planner

  • Dot grid is less than 5mm spacing
  • Expensive for a small notebook
  • No contents, future log etc.
  • No pocket folder
  • No ribbon bookmark
  • Paper is way too thin – every pen I tried had ghosting, stamps and highlighters bled through

Would I use this notebook?

It’s a nice notebook, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I wish the dots were 5mm spaced.

I do think the notebook was overpriced at 8 euro (that’s around $14 AUD). Given the price I wasn’t expecting such bad ghosting / thin paper. But if you’re after something compact that’s more of a booklet style notebook rather than a proper sewn bound hardcover notebook, this could be a good option.

  1. Hi planner babes and bros! I recently took Rachel’s E-course on how to make planner stickers and was wondering what type of sticker a company like MAMBI would use?
