Having reviewed many dot grid notebooks, it’s not very often I find one that’s different… except for the PAIPUR notebook. Rather than just another dot grid notebook, this one is a hybrid notebook – the left side had dot grid pages and the right has lined pages.

The notebook I chose was:
- 28 dots across
- 38 dots vertically
- 6mm dot spacing
- 0.24 (approx 6mm) line spacing
Other options available:
- 0.39 inch line spacing
- 0.24 inch line spacing
- Fountain pen edition (blank pages) with 120 GSM paper
The Cover
The cover is that bendy material you’ve probably come across with similar notebooks. One corner did get scuffed in transit from the USA to Australia so the notebook will probably get damaged throughout a year of use.
There are a few cover colors to choose from – I opted for the red cover since I never usually pick this color.
Approx 0.75″ thick
When I saw the 4 boxes in the corners of the pages I thought they were intended for page numbers, symbols for prioritising tasks and coding lists, shading the box in a color to color code etc. After checking the companies website they suggested all of those uses as well as action symbols, ticking off the list / page when done.
The dot grid pages on the left have 28 dots across x 38 dots vertically with 6mm dot spacing – plenty of space for a 2 column list!
I opted for the 0.24 inch (approx 6mm) line spacing although you can also get 0.39″ line spacing if you have big handwriting.
All of the pages are perforated. They don’t tear easy so you can just use this like a normal notebook and remove only when needed – I don’t think they’ll just tear off / wear down over time.
Very roomy pocket folder at the back
Pen Testing
As you can see the paper isn’t very thick – there’s heavy ghosting for all of the pens, highlighters and stamps (the paper is only 100 GSM).
There is another version with 120 GSM paper but from past reviews of notebooks with 120 GSM – there is still likely to be ghosting.
Pros of the Notebook
- Cheap
- Lined & dot grid pages
- Pocket folder
- Multiple cover colors to choose from
- Larger page size than most of this type of notebook
- Lightweight for a notebook of this size
- Bendy cover means the notebook is much lighter than most notebooks in this size
- Paper feels really smooth to write on
- I like the 6mm dot grid spacing (most notebooks of this type have 5mm dot spacing)
Cons of the Notebook
- Thin paper that’s prone to ghosting (only 100 GSM)
- Cream paper, not white
- Cover is easily marked / scuffed
- No numbered pages
- No index page, future log, legend etc.
- Only 1 ribbon bookmark
Would I use this notebook?
Yes. My favorite page size for planning is around 7″ wide x 9″ high. A5 is just a bit small and 8.5 x 11″ is too big so this notebook is just the right size. I’ll definitely be doing some 2 column lists in this notebook! I do wish the paper was thicker so there’s less ghosting but it does feel really smooth to write on.
