Printable planners to organize your home, business and life!

Planner companies that don’t ship to Australia (or have expensive shipping to Australia)

Australia. That island / country / continent that the USA seems to forget exists. I’ve researched many planners for the 52 Planners in 52 Weeks challenge and was disappointed that time and time again the planners I wanted to try (some of them extremely popular) don’t even ship to Australia, or charge ridiculously expensive shipping to get it here. 🙁

Update: In the past few years most of the planner companies on this list changed to now ship internationally! I’ve done reviews for most of the planners – links to my reviews are later in this post.

Planner Companies that don’t ship to Australia

1. Bluesky Planners

I’ve been wanting a Bluesky planner for years – especially since they did their collaboration with Day Designer. Their planners look simple but pretty, come in multiple sizes and are super cheap! I’ve emailed the company directly I was that desperate keen to try the planner and they said they only ship to the USA 🙁

Update: I’ve done a few reviews of the various versions of the Blue Sky Planner:

  • Day Designer for Blue Sky Horizontal Weekly Planner Review
  • Day Designer for Blue Sky Today and To Do Notebook
  • Dabney Lee for Blue Sky (horizontal page orientation)
  • Day Designer for Blue Sky Vertical Hourly Planner
  • Day Designer for Blue Sky Horizontal
  • Blue Sky Noteworthy Planner
  • Blue Sky Horizontal Weekly Planner
  • Blue Sky Personalised Weekly Planner
  • Blue Sky / Day Designer Day to a Page

2. Day Designer

The Day Designer (referral link) planner only ships to Canada and the USA. You can purchase the planner via one of their retailers but I’m yet to find one that ships to Australia.

Update: See my review of the Day Designer in this post

3. Inkwell Press

This planner reminds me of a cross between the Erin Condren and the Plum Paper Planner. As such, I was keen to try it! There are 2 layouts: the classic and the flex. Both are simple, minimal with a layout you can make your own and little pop of color. But they don’t ship to Australia.

Their FAQ page suggests using a shipping service that forwards to an American address. I looked into the cost of doing this, but at $37.50 USD it was way too expensive for just one planner. If you were buying a lot of planners in bulk it might be worthwhile but I couldn’t justify it. Especially when there are similar cheaper alternatives available.

Update: I did a review of the Inkwell Press Planner in this post

Planner Companies that have expensive shipping to Australia

While there are still plenty of planner companies that ship to Australia – from my own experience I’d allow 4 – 6 weeks for international shipping. Generally the cost seems to be around $25 for international shipping with some companies charging $15USD all the way up to $40USD – it really depends on the type of planner, size, duration (as an 18 month planner will be thicker and heavier than a 12 month planner), binding style (coil is heavier than glue / book bound planners) etc.

Shipping to Australia from American planner companies on Etsy seems to range from around $25USD to $35USD (without tracking).

Companies that will ship to Australia are:

1. Happy Planner

If you buy direct through the Happy Planner’s website or via Michael’s (which re-sell the planners) the cost to ship to Australia is ridiculous – more than the cost of the planner. My sister sells planner supplies and knew how much I wanted to try the planner so became an Australian stockist! 🙂

2. Productivity Planner

Given that this planner is small (only 5.2″ wide x 8.5″ high) and glue bound (i.e. wouldn’t make much) – shipping to Australia at $14USD is rather expensive (although admittedly cheaper than most of the other planners on this list).

Update: I did a review of the Productivity Planner in this post.

3. Ink and Volt Planner

$25USD shipping for a planner that’s small (6″ wide x 8.5″ high) is quite pricey. At least this planner comes in an undated version so if you don’t receive it by a certain date it won’t matter!

4. LimeLife Planners

Their planners are nice but they’re expensive + expensive shipping to Australia = 🙁

I purchased their layout C planner (as well as an interchangeable cover) and shipping was $40! I don’t think I’d order from them again though as they offer free printables of their planners to try – they do have small watermarks on them (I’m going to try one for the 52 Planners in 52 Weeks challenge).

5. Get to Work Workbook

I looked at getting their A5 planner inserts but they’re way too expensive at $46 USD! And then shipping was $22USD to ship to Australia on top of that!

Update: I did a review of the planner in this post.

6. May designs

For cute little notebooks the cost of these sure adds up fast. For a simple little stitched notebook it’s a bit of a rip off at around $30 for the largest size. Let alone shipping for $40 to Australia – $40 just for a thin, stitched notebook that would weigh y hardly anything! It’s cheaper to DIY your own planner and get exactly what you want!

Practical paper company

This company’s planners remind me of LimeLife Planners – simple layouts in the most popular styles (horizontal and vertical), with a little pop of color. I really want to try the ‘Brooklyn Task List’ layout as it reminds me of the Plum Paper Horizontal Lined + Notes.

The planners are on the pricey side at $55USD. International shipping is another $25USD on top of that. $80USD for a planner? I don’t think so…

7. SHP Planners

I really like the simplicity of these planners and all the cute covers. Their planners are sold via Etsy. Shipping to Australia is $32AUD for one planner. Although the cost of the planners themselves is quite cheap at around $30AUD.

Update: I know shipping is expensive but I caved in and got the planner anyway. See my review in this post.

8. Commit 30 planner

I like the idea of this planner for habit tracking but $20USD shipping  for a small A5 notebook (via regular mail) is just too expensive.

9. Goal Digger

Love the cover of this planner and love the layout even more!

$22USD for international shipping sounds expensive, however, it is a large size planner with hardcover front and back covers, as well as wire binding (so would weigh a fair bit). If the planner itself wasn’t so expensive (around #55USD) then I would definitely buy it.

10. Erin Condren

A lot of people probably wouldn’t agree with me, but I think the Erin Condren planners are over-rated and a rip off. Sure, they’re nice planners – but there are plenty of planners out there that are cheaper (and have cheaper shipping) and are just as good (if not better!)

Cheaper alternatives to the Erin Condren Planner:

  • Plum Paper
  • Happy Planner
  • A DIY Planner

I did a huge Erin Condren haul. Shipping was $40 and took over 2 months to arrive. I ordered from Plum Paper on the same day as I did from Erin Condren (during their Black Friday Sales). The day the Plum Paper order arrived I finally received an email from Erin Condren but it was just to tell me there were delays and that my order hadn’t even shipped yet – very poor communication!

Update: I did a 2nd Erin Condren haul. The shipping was much faster this time around. I ordered on Thursday 28th November (their Black Friday sale) and the planners arrived in Brisbane on Monday the 2nd of December (Including 1 personalised notebook – super fast turnaround!)

11. Living Well Planner

A planner created by popular blogger Ruth at Living Well Spending Less. The shipping cost to Australia is ridiculous at $50USD. So the total cost of the planner and their add on accessories will set you back $135USD! (This is the most expensive planner on this list!)

So at this point you’re probably wondering: if these companies have expensive shipping (or don’t ship at all) to Australia, what planner companies do?

Planner Companies with cheap shipping to Australia

  1. Plum Paper

This would have to be my favorite planner company!

I shared haul in this post: Plum Paper Planners Haul & Review (better than the Erin Condren?)

I bought 8 planners (and added the maximum number of extra pages allowed for each planner). It only cost $40USD for shipping which I thought was quite reasonable given the planners are about 1″ thick with coil binding (so they would’ve weighed a fair bit!)

2. Mi Goals

This planner company is based in Australia so it has cheap shipping (free if you spend over a certain amount). I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked their planners.

3. Digital (printable) planners from AllAboutTheHouse

A bit of shameless self-promotion: the printable planners in my Etsy shop are digital – meaning you can live anywhere in the world, download and print them! They’re sent via instant download (to your Etsy registered email address). They can also be printed at any page size you like! See this post for printing tips and instructions

4. Personal planner

This company not only lets you build a custom and personalised planner and for a reasonable price, but also has free shipping worldwide!

5. Whistle and Birch

This is an Australian planner company. Shipping is $15AUD to Australian addresses for 1 planner. There are a few layouts to choose from and this planner is a great alternative to the Erin Condren. If you live in the USA shipping is ridiculously expensive – $42AUD.

Update: See my review of the Whistle and Birch Planner in this post. Stephanie, the owner of Whistle and Birch sent me a custom planner with all of the layout options!

6. Kikki K

Probably the most well known Aussie planner company – Kikki K has many stores around the country (I’ve also seen some of their products in David Jones) as well as free shipping over $50.

7. Staples – Arc Notebook

If you’re a fellow lover of discbound systems – Staples Australia has the Arc notebook. They offer free delivery for orders over $55AUD.

Staples also have some planner pen brands that are hard to find in Australia such as Pentel and Uniball.

While the Daily Greatness Planner is a bit on the high side at $50, shipping is only $10 to Australia.

Am I missing some?

I’m sure there have to be more planner companies that will ship to Australia without charging ridiculous shipping rates – if there are any you know of please comment below! I’m on the hunt for more planners to try out for the 52 Planners in 52 Weeks challenge.
