If you read the title and thought another rainbow spread? … yep! Rainbow always has been and always will be my go to for weekly spreads. I originally didn’t post this since my spreads are starting to look a bit same same (days of the week on one side, list space on the other side). I thought it may be getting a bit boring for people to read.

But I’m still getting numerous emails from people asking for A5 size printables in my shop. I’ve posted a few tutorials on resizing printables such as this one. But if you want to see a ‘real life’ example of a past spread where I resized a US letter printable to A5, then keep reading.

Before the Pen

Since I only post weekdays on the blog, I opted for a 5 day week planner.

I can be quite bad with predicting how long things are going to take. I get carried away making printables, searching for a recipe, sorting travel photos etc. so in an effort to track and be a bit more realistic about what I can fit into a week, I made a checklist that included an estimated time for each task.

After the Pen

I tend to try and match the colors of planners & printables with pens. I’ve used this same rainbow color scheme for years and have found a few pen brands that closely match:

• Papermate Inkjoy Gel 0.7mm
• BLOT gel pens
• Inklab Fineliner (which are like a cheaper version of the PaperMate Flairs)
• Pilot Pop Lol

For this week I opted for the Inklab Fineliners and a Teal Pilot PopLol (as I wanted the colors to closely match the colors of my printables).

I prioritised tasks by number. 1 = most important. If I put a – it means the priority is irrelevant. I.e. dishwasher is more of a reminder not a task. Takes less than 5 minutes I just need to write it down to remind me to actually do it.

Would I use this spread again?

Yes. I’ve found planner peace with using different layouts but keeping much the same structure. Keeping blog posts separate in ‘traditional’ days of the week format combined with one (or a few!) to a do lists.
