Happy Planner finally came out with some pretty rainbow stuff recently… And I’m obsessed!

Weekly Spread
For this weekly spread it was a toss up between this note paper with the disc border from the Planner Babe range… or this rainbow paper. It’s not from the Planner Babe range but it has a similar style & is rainbow. In the end I opted for the rainbow paper as I don’t normally plan using graph paper and wanted to try it out.
Note: The Happy Planner inserts are double sided with a completely different design on the pack. The graph paper comes with lines on the back and it’s the only design they show in the promo image so if you can’t find the rainbow graph / grid paper, looking for rainbow lined paper.
I did my usual blog planning on one page with a checklist on the other (well both sides of the half sheet). I thought about using a half sheet for blog planning too but it’s not quite wide enough. The classic size was slightly too wide. At the rate MAMBI is going with new releases, maybe they’ll bring out a 3/4 sheets soon…
Anyway, I decided to do some quick ‘decorating’ with highlighters.
I used the Monami highlighters – a recent purchase on my trip to Europe (see the rest of my haul here). They’re the perfect sizing for the grids of the Happy Planner refill paper. They’re so smooth to highlight with I just wanted to keep using them.. as a result the page ended up a bit overdone but never mind.
See how I had to bunch the text on the bottom of the half sheet focus page – the line spacing is a bit too big. Otherwise the focus on half sheets are my new favorite Happy Planner insert.
I also re-positioned my wish list that I set up a few weeks ago so that it was clustered with this week’s spread – the main reason I always come back to discbound notebooks – I can quickly rearrange things.
I really like that the MAMBI half sheets are double sided and turned the dot grid into a checklist using the MAMBI self inking stamp. Apart from the Frixion self inking stamps this is basically the only stamp I’ll use – it saves so much time.
If you’re bullet journaling in a traditional notebook and need to find a page easily, place the title on the edge of the page. I like to do this with the months of the year on the divider pages in my business planner – especially if you have multiple monthly pages behind various tabs e.g. monthly planning, calendar, list, review page etc.
Supplies Used:
- Wish list printable (download a copy for free from the printables library here)
- Planner Babe focus half sheet
- Graph paper classic size (has lined note paper on the back) – I don’t think this is actually from the Planner Babe range but it’s similar
- Monami 601 highlighters
- Paperchase erasable markers
- ParKoo erasable pen
- ParKoo rainbow gel pens
- Papermate Inkjoy Gel 0.7mm (yellow pen)
- MAMBI self inking checklist stamp
- Happy Notes classic size
- Carpe diem birthday / celebrate icon stickers from the Calendar Sticker Tablet
I wanted to try all the new stationery I got recently hence the random assortment of stationery used this week 🙂
I’m not a huge fan of the Paperchase erasable markers – the colors are a bit washed out.
Love the ParKoo gel pens – the colors really pop. You can see the yellow ink clearer than other gel pens but not as clear as the Papermate Inkjoy Gel so I used that pen for the yellow.. yet again.

Would I use these inserts again?
I love anything any everything rainbow so these inserts are a definite yes from me. You can’t really go wrong with plain inserts like these. Plus it’s discbound.
I didn’t mind planning on grid paper but the lines make the page a bit more ‘busy’ than dot grid, so I’ll probably be sticking to dot grid for now.
