Fast weekly spread using KHD stickers and thin washi tape

After taking a hiatus from a ‘traditional’ days of the week spread over the past year or so; I’m starting to use some more traditional layouts again, kicking off with KHD stickers.

She has plenty of rainbow stickers which is how I found her shop in the first place (similar rainbow colors that I use for my printable planner stickers so now I can mix and match when I don’t have time to print and cut my own). But she also had some ‘watercolor’ looking stickers in a gradient shade of pinks and oranges. I normally don’t use pink and orange together, so I decided to deviate and see how the color combination looks.

Before the pen

I chose a simple layout this week that always looks good using thin washi tape (looks way better than just ruling lines on the page to create the boxes for each day). I used this 3mm washi tape that comes in a nice pack of rainbow colors and pairs well with the carpe diem number stickers for the dates. Then I added the KHD days of the week stickers.

If you like this style, I did a similar layout with Planner Kate’s stickers.

After the pen

I knew there would be a fair few things happening this week so used every line, but normally I would write on every second line. If you look closely in the photos below you’ll see lots of places where I was rubbing out the Frixion erasable pen. I was using a 0.7mm tip and if you’re going to write on every line it gets quite crammed. So I’d either use a smaller, 0.5mm tip or do what I normally do, which is write on every second line. In hindsight, I should’ve used a B6 size notebook too.

I was preparing to move the following week so had lots of moving related things on the to do list. I used a combination of my moving spreadsheets and moving planner printables that I made 10 years ago (the last time I moved). They still worked great, especially the countdown checklist and box inventory.

I have quite a few posts drafted that only need refining needed closer to the date I post it (that’s why some items were already marked off my blog post workflow at the start of the week). If you’re interested, this is my key:

  • D = post drafted
  • E = post edited
  • I = Images created
  • V = Video filmed
  • P = Pinned to Pinterest (after posting)
  • R.P. = Links to related posts (updating old posts with related content to link to the new post)

If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see posted on the blog, let me know in the comments below. And if you’re interested, here is the link to the post I published this week: where to find dot grid inserts.

I ended up adding some reminder and custom tracker stickers I had made by KHD stickers.

I keep a master habit tracker (currently using this this one from my shop) but I’m really trying to cement the habit of using my lightstim until my acne clears up. I figured since I’m trying to improve a habit that’s somewhat fallen by the wayside, then I need to bring it back into my weekly spread where it’s a more obvious reminder. Then I can tweak my routine to integrate it e.g. I’m trying to use it on nights I don’t have to cook dinner.

I mainly use my planner for keeping track of things I need to do for my Etsy shop, this blog and general life to do’s. I don’t take my planner with me on the go, it stays on my desk at home. I take photos of my planner then refer to the photos on my phone when I’m not at home.

But if you do take your planner or notebook with you, I used the Clever Fox 2.0 journal this week and it’s a great option if you want good quality paper but a notebook that’s still lightweight. Most of the dot grid notebooks with 160GSM paper get quite heavy due to the thicker paper, so this is a good alternative (the paper isn’t 160GSM but it’s still pretty good with minimal ghosting).

Would I use this layout again?

Yes. This is a very basic weekly spread that takes 5 minutes to set up but works really well. I can think of many different color combinations I could do using various washi tapes and planner stickers.

I’ve also used this layout with the Saturday and Sunday page split in half horizontally rather than vertically.

I really like the KHD stickers. They peel off the sticker sheets easily, the ink and colors are vibrant / high quality and they stayed stuck down / no peeling off throughout the week.
