Pastel themed weekly spread with Simple Stories and Carpe Diem Stickers

When I’m lacking ideas for weekly spreads, I’ll usually take my inspiration from one stationery supply and build upon that. My inspiration for this week’s spread was the Simple Stories alpha sticker book. It has letter stickers in various sizes which I used to create the structure of my weekly spread.

Before the Pen

I kept it simple with a variation of my favorite layout – days of the week on the left and to do list on the right.

I used thin rainbow washi tape to create the boxes for each day and the underline for the to do heading.

The Simple Stories Alpha Sticker Book has a blank sheet that you can colour in. I wanted to try my Sharpie S note highlighters I found in the USA (which also happened to be pastel). So I used those highlighters for the To Do Stickers (and actually think they turned out better than the colours of the other stickers in the book).

I wish there were entire sticker books with alphabet and icon stickers that I could colour in with highlighters so all of the colours on my spreads were perfectly coordinated!

After the Pen

I’m not a great lover of pastel colours, but this spread actually didn’t turn out too bad!

If you don’t have date stickers or want to easily add some colour to the spread, do a quick few strokes of a highlighter then write the date over the top.

If you didn’t want to draw checkboxes you could just use a strip of washi tape then tick on the left side of the tape and write the to do list tasks on the right side of the tape.

Some other pastel planner supplies I considered using were:

Pros of this weekly spread

  • Quick to set up
  • Don’t need a lot of planner supplies
  • Enough space to write as the Posy Paper notebook is 6″ wide x 9″ high

Cons of this weekly spread

  • Too many colors

Would I use this spread again?

I like the layout… but pastel colors are not my favorite. All week I was thinking how much nicer the spread would look in bright rainbow colors. I really wanted to use my new Sharpie highlighters but if I do another pastel spread in the future, I’d be mixing and matching highlighters from different brands (e.g. use a different orange). I’d probably also try the Simple Stories bright alpha sticker books instead next time.

All of the planner supplies I used this week are good quality (the stickers and washi tape stay stuck and Frixion pens don’t smear). I’d use all of these brands again (and regularly do use all of these brands in my spreads!)
