Habit trackers are my favorite tool for keeping on top of routine tasks and tracking the progress on my goals throughout the month. When you actually mark off whether you did something or not, it becomes very clear if you are or aren’t on top of things. After habit tracking for years I’ve experimented with many different planner supplies, these are my go to for habit tracking.

1. Dot markers
I’m obsessed with dot markers, so many colors and possible uses for them! These are the fastest supply for habit tracking.

2. Dot Stickers
These should be a staple in your planning collection. Quick to peel and stick and ideal if you want to color code, or just add some color to your planner.
Most sticker books have a sheet or 2 of blank circle stickers, or ones with asterisks. Bloom have entire sheets of dot stickers. There are plenty of Etsy shops with these stickers in every color (multiple colors on the same sheet or one sticker sheet per color). You can learn how to make your own in my ecourse.

3. Icon Stickers
Instead of writing out the same task, you can use icon stickers instead. There are plenty of Etsy shops with icon stickers, or I’m starting to notice more well known planner brands are producing sticker books that include icon stickers that could be used for habit tracking.
Some of my favorites:
- Carpe Diem calendar sticker book
- Recollections ‘everyday basics’
- Happy planner journaling sticker book
- Happy planner icon sticker books

4. Happy Planner inserts
If you like discbound planner, the Happy Planner have habit tracker inserts that come in both mini half sheet and classic size. I’ve used the mini half sheet but not the classic (the page size is way too big and both of them you can only track up to 3 habits anyway so unless you have big handwriting, the mini half sheet is sufficient).
If you want to rule up your own habit tracker, Happy Planner have plenty of dot grid pages too.
Happy planner also have a habit tracking multi-accessory pack which has plenty of stickers for habit tracking.
5. Washi tape
A favorite of mine for functional supplies, Ink By Jeng’s habit tracker washi tape fits 5mm dot grid (so most dot grid notebooks). It can be used for weekly habit tracking too when you pair it with her days of the week washi tape. Or use with the numbers 1 to 31 washi tape.
You can find this washi tape in my sister’s shop, Carefully Crafted.
Ink by Jeng also has functional habit tracking stamps
Another option is this washi tape from Sunshine Sticker Co.
There’s a vertical version as well, if you want to habit track that way instead.
6. Highlighters
If you don’t have space to store a lot of planner supplies and want something cheap and quick, highlighters can last for years without drying out.

If you don’t have highlighters you could use pencils instead:

7. Stencils
A few brands to consider:
- The Helix circle maker
- Ink by Jeng habit tracker stencil
- The Paper Studio
- Happy Planner journaling stencils
You could also use stencils that have checkboxes and then just repeat it for as many rows that you need e.g. tracking 5 habits = 5 rows
8. Printable stickers
If you have a blog or online business, these social media habit tracker stickers are a printable in my shop. Or learn how to make your own planner stickers in my ecourse.
Some printable habit stickers to look for:
- Monthly sidebar
- Stickers around 1.5″ long x 0.5″ high are great for layering in the sidebar
- Monthly routine habits
- Giant habit tickers for the notes section (while not a sticker, the Passion Planner has a habit tracker that you could print onto full sheet label paper to create a sticker)
- Vitamins, water intake, exercise tracking
- Cleaning

9. Frixion stamps
There are certainly other stamps you could use however I like simple icons like a heart or star. Most other stamp brands (e.g. the Happy Planner self inking stamps) are too inky and have heavy ghosting or bleed through the page. Happy Planner does have a convenient checkbox stamp though.

10. Poooliprint stickers
I made this habit tracker sticker using the Poooliprint thermal pocket printer. I shared a tutorial on how to use it in this post.

11. Laomis
I found this one on Amazon and would like to try it as it has both weekly and monthly habit trackers.. except it’s expensive ($19 USD for the 2 rolls). I haven’t been able to find it elsewhere.
The weekly habit tracker starts on a Monday.
0.19″ converts to about 4.8mm. Since most dot grid notebooks have a 5mm grid this one might not be an absolutely perfect fit.

I love all these different ways to track. Where did you find the stickers with the social media icons at the top and the says of the week down the side? I like those for tracking when you check your social media.
